Today marked the first day of kindergarten for my little guy! We are so fortunate to be in the Cheney School District where they have a preschool program that he was apart of last year and now he will be attending elementary school there. I can’t believe it has been a year already since he started preschool! I’m sure in no time I’ll be remembering this day as he starts 1st grade.

This week’s theme for the Bloom 52 Challenge-
When I saw the theme for this week my mind went immediately to Crayons. At our house we’ve been getting ready for our oldest to go to Kindergarten. We’ve done the school supply shopping, plus just re-stocked our supply. We have quite the little artists in our house, so we go through crayons pretty fast. =D
I have to admit I love fresh crayons- I love the smell, the fresh pointy tips, the bright colored wrappers….
It’s time for another edition of the Bloom 52 Challenge. This week’s theme is
For my interpretation of the theme I chose to take some pictures of my children in our garden. During the summer most of our family time at night is spent out in the garden. We pick, weed, enjoy the vegetables, and harvest at least 3 or 4 nights a week. To me this is what the connection is all about, both kids learning how to care for the garden and enjoying working (and the eating!)
Can you believe it? 2 weeks in a row and I’m participating in the Bloom 52 Challenge! This week’s theme is family, which is perfect because right now I’m in Seattle WA with a good chunk of my family- my little family of course, plus my parents, my sister and brother in law, another sister, and 2 of my brothers. We aren’t all here but there is still a lot of us here! Unfortunately, we just got here this afternoon, so no time for any pictures yet!
However, on Tuesday
I’m back for another round with all the amazing women in my group on the Bloom Forum.
This week’s theme is Silhouette’s.
This silhouette was done during Sara’s Senior session. It was the first time I’ve ever been able to capture one during a session- timing the light and getting up a bit higher were definitely the keys. To see more silhouettes you can hop through our blog circle, starting with

It has been awhile, but I’m finally joining my Bloom ladies again for the 52 Challenge.
This week’s theme is a Shot from Your Spot. It is all about everyday life, and what we see on a daily basis.
The last 2 weeks for us have been filled with swimming lessons for both my munchkins. It has definitely kept us busy. Riley is part fish, and has absolutely loved every minute of it. This was his 3rd session, and he has had a blast. Aubrey, on the other hand, has had fun, but has
Hooray! I managed to fit in another week participating in the Bloom 52 group! This week’s theme was “selective focus”. What might you ask does this mean? Well, here is how I interpreted it… I had a choice when I shot this image of my cutie. I could have both her and her lolli in focus (and trust me I got lots of those too! 😉 ) or I could creatively interpret what I saw. So with this theme in mind I shot the frame so that the lolli was in focus with her peeking out
It has been awhile since I’ve been able to participate in my Bloom 52 group! I had such high hopes for this week’s theme of actually being in a picture with my kids, alas it wasn’t to happen. Sessions, prepping for a yard sale, and dr’s visits decided to take up my time instead. =(
So, I’m sharing an image that is one my all time favorites. To me it captures the unconditional love that is what motherhood is all about. This sweet guy was in the hospital
This week’s theme with the girls in my Bloom Forum group is Light and Dark.
Light and Dark, black and white, it brought to mind one of my husband’s favorite treats.
Oreos and Milk. =)
And, bummer for me since he isn’t here to eat them for me I guess I’m going to have to eat them now. I can’t let them go to waste can I?
To see more Light and Dark images hop on over Karen Leslie’s blog and then hop your way through our little blog circle.
