I recently discovered My Memories Suite, a digital scrapbooking software. I use to do paper scrapbooking, but over the last few years I have stopped. I just haven’t had the time, energy, or wanted to deal with the mess. However, I’ve been missing out on documenting all my photographs of the kids. When My Memories contacted me and offered to let me try their software I was thrilled for the opportunity.
I was amazed how easy simple the program is to use. Big bonus I found- every font that I have installed on my computre has been added to the program. No more hunting for stickers with the right font to go with each page. You have the option to either design your own pages or you can use their pre-made pages. In the past when I’ve looked at pre-made pages I’ve never been that thrilled. When I started playing around with My Memories though I loved how easy it was to get started, and easy it was to customize things. The program comes pre-loaded with over 40 different pre-designed albums with a variety of choices in sizes. Here is one that I started- I wanted you to be able to see the process.
This first page is the basic page. All I had to was insert my image.
This next page shows how I took the basic layout and added my own embellishments and caption. Everything you see that I added is included in the software. I was able to change the colors on the wording, and added the circle to the calendar to remind myself when we took the picture.
This next layout shows another page from the same album- Looking Back. Again all I had to do was drop my own images into it, and then I had the option to add the stitching and brads. Another thing I love is that you can make you page as simple or as elaborate as you want. The next page is one I designed all by myself. Again the paper and flowers are included in the Creative Memories Suite 3 program. I have to admit I’m in love with the “align” feature. When I did paper scrapbooking it would take me FOREVER to space out those flowers. I would have sat there with a ruler making little marks on my page trying to figure out where they should sit. With the Suite all I had to do was add one flower embellishment, adjust its size to how big I wanted it, and then copy and paste it to get all 3 flowers the identical size. I roughly placed them where I wanted them and then used the align tool to get them perfectly spaced. Instead of spending 10 minutes or more working on it I spent maybe 2 minutes, and as I do it more I can bet that figure will come way down. Here is the best part….
