Don’t worry I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth! I know it has been a while since I’ve blogged, but I’m back and ready to go. I’ve got lots of beautiful sessions from the last few months to share with you, so stay tuned!
To say I’m looking forward to Josh and Emily’s August of 2014 wedding would be an understatement! I knew as soon as I met Emily that we were going to have fun together. But, when we started talking about their engagement session I realized that was an understatement. For their engagement pictures they wanted to go to Coeur d’Alene around the boardwalk and the lake. Coeur d’Alene is a very special location for them- it is where they had one of their first dates and where they got engaged! I love that it was so personal to them. As Emily and I were talking and getting everything set up she mentioned at the end of the session she’d love to get a shot of them jumping the lake. I immediately latched on to the idea and asked if they’d be open to doing a whole series in the water. She agreed and we just hoped they didn’t freeze! The day of the session it ended up being close to 90 degrees in mid-September, so the jump in the lake was definitely a great way to cool off. At their Image Premier some of their favorite images ended up being the ones in the lake. Emily was too cute as she told me that all she had envisioned was the one picture and a quick jump. She was so excited that she had listened to me and ended up these amazingly romantic photos in the water!
This last week Shasta Hankins and I hosted a giveaway for a free Love Session, plus 3 digital images, and airbrushed makeup by Shasta. We asked people to enter to win by sharing their Love story. It was so much fun to read through people’s stories! I’m so excited to announce the winner of the giveaway is
Congratulations Nicole for winning the session and all it includes! I’m looking forward to meeting you and your husband and capturing some beautiful portraits for you!
This Sunday, my husband and I will celebrate our 12th Anniversary! I can’t believe it has been 12 years! The other night I was cooking dinner in our beautiful home that we built (that my husband worked so hard to help build!), the kids were playing together, and I was suddenly filled up with an incredible thankfulness. Never 12 years ago would I have imagined that this would be my life. There are so many things that I thought would be different, so many things that I would have never guessed possible, but now I’m just filled with an overwhelming thankfulness for everything we’ve been through and have.
This year I have had a privilege of working with quite a few couples in love. It is one of my favorite things to document and capture. There is nothing like capturing that beautiful moment where you can tell that all that matters is the person beside them.
In addition, my fabulous makeup artist, Shasta Hankins, and I are going to giveaway one free stylized engagement session, plus 3 digital images, and airbrushed makeup for the session.
I am so excited to share a sneak peek at Rachel and Mark’s Greenbluff wedding. They got married at Mrs. Kalin’s Barn on Greenbluff the end of August. If you are looking for a gorgeous wedding venue in the Spokane area I highly recommend you check out Mrs. Kalin’s Barn! It is absolutely stunning from the white barn type reception area, to the little chandelier hanging in the ceremony area, the flowers, the little orchard, the bridal ready area, the cute little patio…! With such a gorgeous location you don’t have to have a ton of decorations, but all of Rachel’s little touches were perfect- the baby’s breath bouquets the bridesmaids carried, the shot gun shell boutonnieres, the gold sparkles, the striped accents…..
So, what happens when you put together a gorgeous couple, drop dead beautiful dress, stunning location, amazing family and friends, and all the little touches to finish it up….. a fairy tale wedding celebrating the love of two very special people.
