Brad and Victoria Tie the *Knott*

The Big Day finally arrived on December 1st.  I’m not going to lie and say I wasn’t nervous about a December 1st wedding… the weather can be so unpredictable this time of the year.  We could have been buried under a couple feet of snow, raining, freezing temperatures….. But, never did I actually think that it could be in the mid 40’s and sunny, especially after falling asleep the night before to an absolute deluge of rain.  And, yet there we were- standing in the sunshine, although still chilly not nearly as bad is it could have been.

Brad and Tori chose the Fort Mukogawa Chapel in Spokane as the site of their wedding, with the reception to take place just down the road of the private school in the Commons.  Although it was a December 1st wedding, Tori opted to steer away from the typical “Christmas” wedding.  Instead she went with a more Winter Fairy Tale feel.  Branches, bird cages, tulle, glitter, twinkle lights, and lots of candles all helped contribute to the feel of the day.

One of the reasons I love weddings is that I typically don’t have to do much posing when it comes to the Bride and Groom.  I can kind of set them up where I want them and then they become lost in their world, and I am just merely a spectator there to capture their love.  At times I might have to interrupt the fairy tale and ask them to smile for the camera, because we all know that Mom, Dad, Grandparents all want that looking at the camera and smiling shot too.  That was definitely the case with Brad and Tori…. although they are young Brad has known that Tori was the one he wanted from the time he was just 15, and you could see the wonder on his face that it was really, truly, finally happening.

Stay tuned, because on Monday part II of the Sonneland/Knott  wedding will be live on the blog!

I am looking for inside photos of the Base Chapel. I was especially interested in your pics, because you have several attendants. My friends daughter has seven and the mom is really anxious about how they will all fit. She also loved your lighting. I think the winter fairytale feel is perfect! Your ceremony looks lovely.ReplyCancel

Hi Kathy. Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, for you we did not do any photos inside the chapel aside from the actual ceremony. It is wonderful space . I think you can have 7 attendants up there, but it will be a bit snug. If your friends have not hired another photographer I’d love to chat with them. I’d love to photograph another wedding there!ReplyCancel
